The 24-year-old beauty queen joins prominent personalities across different industries, such as French ambassador Marie Fontanel, Singapore ambassador Constance See, Associate Justice Ma. Filomena Singh, and Gymnastics Association of the Philippines president Cynthia Carrion Norton.
Also part of this year’s batch are interior designer Katrina Blanca De Leon, singer Pops Fernandez, and beauty queen-entrepreneur Samantha Panlilio, among others.
“I’m incredibly honored to be one of People Asia’s Women of Style and Substance awardees this year!” Manalo said in an Instagram post.
“What a humbling experience to be recognized alongside such inspiring women whom I look up to,” she added. “Thank you, People Asia, for this recognition.”
Manalo has already left Manila for the upcoming Miss Universe pageant, which will be held in Mexico on November 16.
She is aiming for the Philippines’ fifth crown after Catriona Gray (2018), Pia Wurtzbach (2015), Margie Moran (1973), and Gloria Diaz (1969).
