The actress spoke about how she is “aware of the rumors and speculation that are going on,” and said:

“I want you to hear it straight from me: It is true that Deej and I decided to go our separate ways. What Deej and I have is real. It was never for show. We came together not for the cameras, not for the fans, not for the money brought by a successful love team. We truly love each other.”

Explaining how Daniel became her first boyfriend, Kathryn Bernardo said that the relationship brought her “joy, adventure, and a sense of home.” Calling Padilla her “comfort zone,” Kathryn Bernardo also shared the reason for their breakup, saying the two “fell apart.”

“Like any relationship, we tried our best to make it work. We had been drifting apart for a while, and in the end we had to accept that we could never go back to where we were. It wouldn’t be fair to pretend everything was the same.”

Bernardo concluded by saying that their relationship “started with respect and ended with respect.” He also comforted his fans by saying that he knows how they “hurt” and asked them not to take sides.
