In June 2016, an attempted kidnapping incident was reported involving the child of Dawn Zulueta and Antonio Lagdameo Jr. According to the report, their daughter was nearly kidnapped outside her school in Makati City. The plan of the yet-to-be-identified suspects failed because the child was with someone at the time. Prior to the incident, the family had reportedly received threats and surveillance from the suspects. Lagdameo’s legal counsel, Rudolph Jurado, said, “These people should stop doing this threat. And if they think they have other plans, bigger plans against the congressman, they should probably think about it. There will be consequences.”

Despite these challenges, Dawn and Antonio’s family remained strong. In December 2022, they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with a beach getaway. In an Instagram post, Dawn shared photos of them and said, “After 25 years with you, I can confidently say, loving you is the best thing that ever happened in my life. I love you forever, Anton!”

In July 2022, the family attended the inauguration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. As a close friend of the Marcoses, Dawn posted a greeting on her Instagram account: “Congratulations on the inauguration of our President-elect @bongbongmarcos ❣️ May God protect and guide you always as you embark on this great service for the nation and for all our countrymen. We love you!”

Over the years, the family has continued to show their love and support for each other. In November 2024, Dawn shared photos of their family reunion after visiting their son Jacobo, who is currently studying in the United States. In her post, she said, “We have come to the end of our short but sweet family reunion. See you again soon for the Christmas holidays, our dear sweet son. Mama and Papa love you!”
