Sofronio Vasquez

Singer Sofronio Vasquez looked back on his The Voice Season 26 journey in Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.

Casting

Sofronio auditioned for six months before making it to the blind auditions of The Voice. Michael Bublé’s “Feeling Good” was his go-to song.

Blind auditions

The blind auditions for The Voice were a “make or break” moment for Sofronio. He said it was as if he was on autopilot once he stepped on stage.

Coach

Michael Bublé was his chosen coach, but Snoop Dogg or Gwen Stefani were his first choices.

Michael Buble

He is very grateful to coach Michael Bublé because without him, he would not have achieved everything he has.

Hometown

Sofronio considers Utica, New York, his hometown in America. He believes that his dream as an overseas Filipino resonated with his fellow immigrants there, which was key to his victory.

Winner

Aside from USD 100,000, Sofriono’s winnings included a recording contract with Universal Music Group.
