Nikko Natividad grew up in a broken family; does he resent his parents?

Nikko Natividad revealed his thoughts when his parents emigrated and he grew up in a broken family.

“I grew up in a broken family. My dad left when I was not even three years old, he went to Japan. He was there for fourteen years. Then my mom, of course, had a different family, she also went to London. I grew up in the typical way, with grandmothers, aunts, and grandparents,” Nikko said in a previous episode of “Lutong Bahay.”

“So when I saw them when they came home, there were some,” the actor shared.

Because of this, Nikko was asked if he had a grudge against his parents.

“I’m not angry because of course my grandmothers, my aunts, they understood, ‘or maybe they’re in another country because they want a good life.’ We’re always told, which is true,” he continued.

From his experience, Nikko said that he now makes sure that he will be close to his son.

“My plan is, it’s okay to be afraid of your parents, but it’s different to be afraid of being too afraid. I want my child to be able to tell me how he feels, to be able to correct me,” the actor added.

Nikko explained that people still make mistakes even as adults. That’s why he will accept criticism even if it comes from his child.

“Because if I do something wrong at home… This is it, even though we are parents, sometimes we make mistakes, we should learn to correct our children as well,” he advised.

Nikko will be seen in season 2 of the Kapuso action series “Lolong,” which will once again star Ruru Madrid.
