During the 72nd FAMAS Awards held on May 26, 2024, at The Manila Hotel, an incident went viral where Marian Rivera was seen apparently being sexually assaulted by a security personnel identified as Earl Nerona-Pressman. In the said video, Marian was seen walking on the red carpet when the said security personnel suddenly made an inappropriate gesture.

After the video went viral, Earl Nerona-Pressman immediately issued a statement to clarify the incident. According to him, his actions were not intended to be malicious and were simply a misunderstanding. He also apologized to Marian Rivera and the public for any negative impression the incident may have caused.

Despite this controversy, Marian Rivera remained silent and did not give any statement regarding the incident. Her projects and activities in the showbiz industry are still continuing.
