Jennylyn Mercado recalled her first TV appearance before she joined ‘StarStruck’ in 2003, “They just told me that John Lloyd needed a scene. I thought I was just an extra… I didn’t know that Bea would be jealous of me for this.”

Jennylyn Mercado looked back at some of her old videos, including her first TV appearance before she joined StarStruck in 2003.

This is the series Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay which aired on ABS-CBN from 2002 to 2003. It starred Lorna Tolentino and John Lloyd Cruz, who played mother and daughter in the series.

Looking back, Jen was just hired as an extra for the soap but she didn’t expect John Lloyd to be in her scene.

In their scene, John Lloyd and Jennylyn are drinking at a bar.

Jen said, “That scene with John Lloyd, it was my very first guest appearance. I wasn’t on StarStruck yet, so it was like Tita Becky (Jennylyn’s manager) just said, we need a scene with John Lloyd.”

Also part of the said series is now Kapuso Bea Alonzo.

Jen continued, “I thought I was just an extra, I would just walk around like that and say hi or just bump into someone. I didn’t know that Bea would be jealous of me here with English lines.”

In 2016, Jennylyn and John Lloyd worked together again. They starred together in the rom-com movie Just The 3 Of Us.

Meanwhile, Jen will be seen in the new rom-com film titled Everything About My Wife , starring Dennis Trillo and Sam Milby. It will be released in theaters starting February 26.

Jen will also be returning to a series with her husband Dennis that will be aired on GMA Prime as part of her re-signing with her home network. The 2015 drama My Faithful Husband was their last series.
