Janine Gutierrez on Jericho Rosales as a travel buddy: “He’s super patient. He’s so much fun to travel with. We’re both just chilling.”

Janine Gutierrez, 35, was visibly happy and excited when asked about the status of her relationship with Jericho Rosales, 45.

Janine was interviewed by PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portals) and selected reporters and vloggers at the  Lavender Fields press junket .

Janine was informed of Jericho’s desire to ask her permission first before revealing whether they were really together.

“Let’s just send him back. Later, later,” Janine replied with a smile.

PEP.ph even called Jericho to speak with Janine, but the actor was unavailable after being interviewed that day.

Jericho did not hide his admiration for Janine and admitted that they really like each other.

For Janine’s part, she also didn’t deny that she and Jericho agree on many things.

That’s what he discovered, especially when they traveled to Japan together.

According to Janine, “He’s super patient. He’s so much fun to travel with.

“We both just chill. It’s not like, ‘We’re here at 8 AM, we’re here at 10 AM.’

“Then, he was super supportive.”

Janine attended the Tokyo Film Festival to represent  Phantosmia , the film she starred in and directed by Lav Diaz.

Jericho is said to be the number one excited person for Janine.

“I actually traveled to attend the filmfest, the Tokyo Film Festival.

“But actually, he really helped me get there. He was the one reminding me, ‘Oh, get it blocked off.’

“Because we were also supposed to be invited to Busan. But, he had a conflict with  Lavender Fields ‘ schedule . “

“But I was sad that I couldn’t go to Busan because my crush, Park Seo Jun, was there.

“No, Park Seo Jun is just a bonus. Hahaha!”

Janine continued: “But, I mean, international film festivals are really my dream. But we were filming  Lavender Fields .

“So, when I was invited to Tokyo, he was like, ‘You have to not miss that. Say goodbye properly.’

“So, I’m really grateful to  Lavender Fields  for allowing me to attend and to be in that film.

“So, supportive siya in that way about work and my other projects.”

Janine previously showed off her and Jericho’s food trips to Japan in her vlog.

It can be seen that Jericho was the one who took the video of Janine, and was the first to congratulate the young woman after the film screening of  Phantosmia .

The vlog “Baba” also features Jericho and Janine’s terms of endearment for each other.

ON WORKING WITH JERICHO AS AN ACTOR

Meanwhile, one of Janine’s unforgettable experiences at  Lavender Fields was the opportunity to work with Jericho, whom she said she had only seen when he was still a Kapuso star.

Janine said, “This is where we became close. We didn’t really know each other before.

“I got to know him better as the show progressed.

“But he’s fun to work with because you feel safe.”

“And you know that you’re on the same page and that you really want to do everything to make the scene better. You won’t be ashamed.”

Jericho is said to be talking about the attack in every scene.

“Yes, especially at the beginning. Because we started out hating each other. We didn’t have an established sweet back story.”

“We really had to establish that just in our heads behind the scenes.

“For it to work that Iris is so angry, she really has to be really hurt and betrayed.”

“Of course, along with the help of the writers, we had many sweet flashbacks. The ones we used to achieve their marital fight.”

WHAT JANINE APPRECIATES ABOUT JERICHO

What did Janine discover about Jericho as an actor?

Janine replied: “I knew he was a good actor. We all know that.

“But I learned that even though he’s Jericho Rosales, he’s still very game to go to workshops, study, and be geeky in thinking about what to do in the scene and the script.”

Janine said she appreciated that.

He explained: “Because he takes the time before the scene starts, it’s already been discussed. ‘Oh, here, I’ll do it here.’

“At least, aligned talaga kayo. And then we talk to Direk about it.

“So, of course it’s very collaborative because Director Manny [Palo], Director Jojo [Saguin], they really help us on how to achieve the scenes.

“I’m really grateful to our directors who really supported us, especially me, I really struggled with the role.”

Finally, Janine announced that she and Jericho will be working together again in a Kapamilya teleserye titled  The Accused.

It was first announced on the ABS-CBN Christmas Special in December.

“Looking forward din dun sobra,” ani Janine.

This is the fulfillment of Jericho’s wish to work with Janine again.
