Aleck Bovick’s win as Best Actress at a prominent award-giving body for her film “Tampisaw” was controversial. Aside from the fact that Aleck was only 17 years old at the time, it was also her first film, and among her opponents for the award was Ara Mina.

Although Aleck is now known for her villain roles in teleseryes, the actress was first recognized as a sexy star.

In an episode of the cooking talk show “Lutong Bahay” hosted by Mikee Quintos, Aleck shared that although his mother supported his acting career, it wasn’t easy for his father because he was only 17 years old and the themes of the films he was making were sexy.

“Dad was the one who almost sued,” said Aleck. “My son is only 17,” his father allegedly said.

But because Aleck really wanted to be an actor, he talked to his father until he agreed.

In her first film, “Tampasiw,” she immediately won the Best Actress award, and Ara Mina was one of her competitors.

Mikee asked Aleck if it was true that he and Ara had a fight because of his win.

“Is it true that you and Ara Mina had a fight after she said you didn’t deserve your best actress award?” Mikee asked Aleck.

“Hey! That’s serious,” Aleck replied, laughing.

But according to Aleck, that’s not true.

“He just said something but not directly… as if he wished someone else had won, that’s what it was,” he explained.

At a young age when he was making himself sexy, Aleck said that his desire to achieve his dreams gave him the courage to take on daring roles.

When he returned to showbiz after a few years away, Aleck admitted that he became conscious because his weight had increased.

He also revealed that some people bash him because of his body now, which is not like it was when he was younger.

According to the actress, she punishes and lectures the bashers.

“Don’t do anything… body shaming is not allowed here. I might see your profile, your appearance, maybe I might say something [that’s not nice],” Aleck said of his threats to the bashers.

He says his morale is strengthened when his other followers support and defend him.

Will Aleck now accept his body?

“I love my body and myself,” she said. “But sometimes we need it for our health.”

“Because you have to understand, you have to accept that this is who you are. You can’t say that I’m thin even though I’m not thin. You can’t say that I’m super rich, even though I’m not rich. So you have to accept that this is who I am so how can I improve,” he explained.

He says he surrounds himself with friends and the right people who can give him advice and encourage him.
