Fans of Virgin River are buzzing with an intriguing prediction for the seventh season, although some concede it might be more hope than expectation.
The popular Netflix show centres around nurse practitioner Mel Monroe (portrayed by Alexandra Breckenridge), a newcomer to the tranquil town who relocates there following a personal tragedy.
She quickly falls for local pub owner Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson), but finds herself grappling not only with his past issues but also her endearing new neighbours and their individual challenges.
Among these is Muriel St Claire (Teryl Rothery), a retired actress who receives a heartbreaking cancer diagnosis in the sixth season.
Throughout recent episodes, Muriel embarks on a casual romance with the town’s new doctor, Cameron Hayek (Mark GhanimeÌ). Their relationship teeters on the brink of becoming serious, but Cameron ultimately opts to leave Virgin River to attempt a reconciliation with his former fianceÌe.

Despite confirmation that GhanimeÌ won’t be returning as a regular in the seventh season, fans are still holding out hope for a reunion between him and Muriel.
“Before any finale, I would love to see Dr. [Hayek] find out that he can’t have children and he will come back to Muriel,” one fan recently speculated on Reddit.
While such a revelation would undoubtedly be shattering for Cameron, it could prompt him to reconsider his engagement and return to support Muriel through her battle with cancer.
It’s undeniable that they’ve captivated part of the fandom, with many rallying behind this sentiment.
A follower expressed: “I know it’s highly unlikely, but I’d love to see Cameron come back to be with Muriel too. Loved your theory about how he’d return!”

Echoing these sentiments, another enthusiast posted: “Where can I file a petition for Muriel and Cameron to get together?”
A different post read: “Rewatching VR and I loved Muriel and Cameron’s relationship, can they get back together ASAP please? Thank you.”
To which a fellow supporter responded: “Yes, please!!! That would be wonderful… they already have a theme music, totally an endgame!! They need to be reunited again.”
The same aficionado added later on: “Maybe he’ll do a guest appearance at the end of the next season and returns in season 8 (if we have a season 8)…
“My heart can dream, right?! LOL. But seriously, I still can’t get over them. They’re so wonderful together.”

Although Cameron’s significant presence in season seven is doubtful, Virgin River’s creator Patrick Sean Smith hasn’t closed the door on his return, as he told Deadline: “Cameron will always be part of our world, and I would love to see his character come back again.”
However, he clarified: “[But] he unfortunately won’t be a series regular in season seven.”
While an eighth instalment from Netflix remains unconfirmed, hopes are high among viewers that this isn’t the last chapter of Cameron and Muriel’s moving love story.
