Ruru Madrid feels the pressure on ‘Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan’ especially since its first season was successful.

Primetime action hero Ruru Madrid admits to feeling pressure in the upcoming action-adventure series Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan.

The series’ first season was a huge success, even being named 2022’s most watched TV show, so Ruru hopes that the second season will be just as well received by viewers.

“The pressure, it doesn’t disappear in every project we do. For me, that’s what I always want to feel. Not pressure from competition or anything, I mean, pressure to create a program that will impress the hearts of the Filipino people,” Ruru said during the series’ media conference.

“That’s what I always want to feel because I also don’t want you to be complacent, that you won’t be able to do what you’re doing. That should always be included in every project we do,” she added.

Ruru considers Lolong as the project that changed her life so she really learned a lot from it. She

said that continuing the taping of the second season of the series was also a great learning experience for her.

“What I learned the most from this, not just as an actor playing Lolong, but as a person– you don’t need to have super powers to be a hero. As long as you help your neighbor, your family, you inspire many people, you’re a hero. That’s what I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life in making this program,” he said.
