The final night of Miss Grand International 2024 (Miss Grand International) ended with the crown being awarded to beauty Rachel Gupta from India.
The titles of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th runner-up were awarded to beauties from the Philippines, Myanmar, France, and Brazil, respectively. Representatives from Indonesia, England, Spain, Peru, and the Dominican Republic won the 5th runner-up title.
Myanmar is not satisfied with the results of Miss Grand International 2024
Mr. Soe Min Tun – the national director of Miss Grand Myanmar – disagreed with the results of Miss Grand Myanmar Thae Su Nyein winning the 2nd runner-up title.
He was angry, snatched the tiara Thae Su Nyein was wearing and threw it away, and removed the sash of the 2nd runner-up in an angry manner.
Many people who witnessed the incident were quite surprised by Mr. Soe Min Tun’s attitude and actions and thought that his reaction was childish.
Immediately after that, he wrote on his personal page “Bye forever”.
The content shared made many people think that Myanmar will no longer participate in Miss Grand International.
The reason for the incident is said to be that the president of the Miss Grand International organization announced that the national costume with the most votes will be awarded. Myanmar’s representative had the highest number of votes but was not awarded.
In the Country’s Power of the Year category, Myanmar also received more votes than Thailand, but Mr. Nawat still decided that Thailand’s representative won.
