The list of contestants just got a little shorter after a scandal, helping the odds of each girl to take home the title.

Miss Universe is scheduled to take place this week, where one woman will be crowned.

The competition will take place in Mexico City on Nov. 16. Sofia Labus, a 21-year-old from Co Cork, is set to represent Ireland at the competition.

Scandal has already been brought on the contest as one contestant was recently disqualified. Italy Mora, representing Panama, allegedly broke her contract when she was found on an unauthorized visit to her boyfriend’s hotel room.

Who are the favorites for Miss Universe?

The competition this year is stiff, with some of the most beautiful women in the world competing. Instagram account @missuniversepredictions has laid out who they think will be the top five.

Sakhile Dube – Miss Universe Zimbabwe

The 28-year-old has held the titles of Miss Supranational Africa, Supranational Top Model, Miss Earth Zimbabwe, and Miss Tourism Zimbabwe. She’s been called “Africa’s front-runner” by online fans, and has been said to already impress judges at the boot camp leading up to the competition.

She advocates for universal healthcare and founded the nonprofit The Zibusiso Foundation, which aims to help children receive educational opportunities. She studied fashion as well.

Suchata Chuangsri – Miss Universe Thailand

Suchata Chuangsri, who goes by Opal, is another front runner. The 21-year-old from Phuket competed in Miss Universe Thailand in 2022, finishing as third runner-up.

She aims to raise awareness about breast cancer after she suffered a scare herself. She found a lump in her breast at age 16, having to undergo surgery to get it removed.

Luana Cavalcante – Miss Universe Brazil

The 25-year-old is a model and actress in Brazil. She’s starred in several films, including Battle for Saipan and Filhos do Mangue.

She is an ambassador for Friends Forever International, a nonprofit organization that helps children become “the best version of themselves.”

Tati Calmell – Miss Universe Peru

Calmell, 30, placed first runner-up in 2022 at Miss International. Born in Lima, she’s been modeling and involved in pageants from a young age.

She’s starred in several telenovela programs in Peru. She advocates for education for young women in rural areas.

Victoria Kjaer – Miss Universe Denmark

The 21-year-old is pursuing a degree in marketing and economy, and she likes to dance and write her own music.

She advocates for animal rights and safety, and hopes to one day be a lawyer.
