Miss Earth 2024 contestants were criticized for still using makeup and unnatural expressions in the bare-face competition.

Missosology posted a series of photos of the Beauty of Face round of the Miss Earth 2024 contestants. Although it was introduced as a no-makeup round, many girls had light makeup on.

Vietnamese contestant, Cao Ngoc Bich, had a radiant face and white skin. Representatives from the Philippines, Thailand, Dominican Republic, Colombia… were also praised for their fresh looks. However, contestants from Mauritius and Brazil revealed dark circles under their eyes, and the UAE beauty appeared tired.

Beauty of Face is one of the three most important rounds (along with swimsuit and interview) that determines the final score. Also in this round, the judges scored the contestants’ bodies based on how they wore bikinis.

The 24th Miss Earth contest started in November, at the same time as Miss Universe and Miss International, but did not attract much attention from fans. In recent days, 68 contestants have participated in sideline and charity activities. A series of photos show that the organization of the contest is only on a small scale, criticized as poor. The quality of contestants this year is also not highly appreciated.

According to the original plan, Miss Earth this year will continue to be held in Vietnam. However, in early September, the Miss Earth organizing committee announced a move to the Philippines.

Vietnamese contestant Cao Ngoc Bich was introduced as a top 10 Miss Earth Vietnam last year, top 41 Miss Universe Vietnam 2022. She was born in 1999, 1.75 m tall. The audience once questioned why the beauty in the top 10 was sent to compete internationally, instead of the remaining candidates in the top 5.

Miss Earth was once ranked among the Big 6 most prestigious beauty pageants, but after the award-buying scandal, the pageant went downhill. Fans had hoped that the pageant would be able to revive the infamous brand that had hit rock bottom due to a series of scandals. However, in a saturated beauty market, Miss Earth still did not receive much attention from the media and social networks.
