The Miss Universe Organization has announced a new format for the 73rd Miss Universe pageant, scheduled for November 16, 2024, at Arena CDMX in Mexico City.
Competition Structure:
• Approximately 127 contestants will participate.
• The first cut will narrow the field to 30 semifinalists, an increase from the previous 20.
• One of these 30 spots will be determined through a fan vote.
• The top 30 semifinalists will compete in the swimsuit round.
3. Evening Gown Segment:
• The field will be further reduced to 12 contestants for the evening gown competition.
4. Question and Answer Round:
• The top 5 finalists will advance to this segment, where they will answer questions to assess their poise and articulation.
5. Final Results:
• The winner will be crowned Miss Universe 2024.
• Four runners-up will also be announced, an increase from the previous two.
• Additionally, four “continental queens” representing different regions will be recognized.
This revised format aims to enhance inclusivity and provide a more comprehensive evaluation of the contestants’ qualities.
