Tony Labrusca is one of Herlene Budol’s leading men in the GMA Afternoon Prime series ‘Binibining Marikit’ which will be aired starting February 10.

It was a dream come true for Tony Labrusca to land the role he got in his first TV project on GMA, the afternoon drama Binibining Marikit .

In the series, he will play Drew, the handsome and macho son of Mayumi, played by Pokwang. Drew’s half-brother is Matthew, played by Kevin Dasom.

According to Tony, 29, he only gets a role that suits his age once in a while.

“This is the first time I feel like a teenager,” he said.

“When I have a role like this, I really savor every moment and really try to enjoy this time because I don’t know when I can have another role like this so I really want to enjoy it and take it all in.”

They also say it’s light on the set of Binibining Marikit, so it’s nice to work.

He also said, “I’m happy, they’re all nice to me. A few days ago, I told them that I was waiting for one of you to suddenly show some real character but, for now, nothing. They’re still nice so it’s a relief for me because on other shows I’ve done, it can be quite difficult. The feeling is different.

“Here, everyone’s nice. They are treating me the same, not treating me like an outsider so I really appreciate it.”

He also said he enjoyed working with his first Kapuso leading lady, Herlene Budol . He said, “This is the first time I’ve experienced that we have a lead who is also our source of energy.”

Tony couldn’t help but be asked if they would have a kissing scene with Herlene. It can be recalled that his torrid kiss with Angel Aquino in the 2018 romance film Glorious went viral on social media . The actor hinted, “Secret…if you want to know, you have to watch it.”

Because of the thrill, Herlene couldn’t hold back and confirmed that she had a kissing scene with Tony and her other leading man, Kevin.

Tony, on the other hand, praised Herlene’s naturalness, admitting that she prepared for the said intimate scene.

He commented to his leading lady, “This is what we love about Herlene, that she is like this on set, that’s why we are happy. You know, we come on set, we do our best but I’m happy that our vibes on set are like this, that we’re just happy, that we’re there for each other. Sometimes what we do is hard, right, so we just have to be there for each other.”

Binibining Marikit can be watched from Monday to Saturday, starting February 10, 2:30 pm on GMA Afternoon Prime.
