Lost jeweler reveals secret to creating ‘Infinity Light’ crown for Miss Universe

MANILA — For the first time in the history of the Miss Universe Organization, the luxury brand Jewelmer collaborated on the new era of the Miss Universe crown.

On Thursday (Manila time), the Miss Universe Organization and the local luxury jeweler officially revealed the brand new crown dubbed “The Light of Infinity.”

The crown showcases the Philippines’ South Sea Pearl, the national gem, adorned with diamonds in wave-like patterns. At the center, the lone golden pearl serves as the pièce de résistance, resembling a sun with diamond-filled rays.

According to the official posts made by Jewelmer on their social media, the crown’s gem was created in “377 steps over five years,” and is “brought to life by the most pristine environment and utmost human care” in the Philippines.

“This precious gem embodies the brilliance of our co-existence with Mother Nature. As long as there is a pearl, there is life shining through every moment,” Jewelmer said on its posts.

Jeweler also stated that the crown was a “one-of-a-kind” creation and “handcrafted by Filipino craftsmen”

“Jewelmer shares this poetic beauty with the world through the Lumière de l’Infini Crown. The pinnacle of savoir-faire, this one-of-a-kind creation was handcrafted by Filipino master craftsmen, utilizing the traditional techniques practiced in Place Vendôme, the center of elegance in France,” it said.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Jacques Branellec, the CEO of Jewelmer, said the crown took two years to make.

“We don’t have words to express how grateful we are. We’re so thankful for the trust. They trusted us blindly and said we had full creative control. They gave us that. The fact that they’re appreciating the new crown for us is an honor for our family, our country,” Branellec said.

Since 1979, Jewelmer has revolutionized the jewelry industry by placing the South Sea Pearl at the heart of every exceptional piece, and commitment to unparalleled craftsmanship showcases these exquisite pearls, capturing their radiant beauty and elegance.

The 73rd Miss Universe competition will be held in Mexico on November 16. The pageant will be shown live on ABS-CBN’s Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, Metro Channel, and iWantTFC on November 17.

This year the Philippines bet Chelsea Manalo is aiming to become the country’s fifth Miss Universe titleholder after Catriona Gray (2018), Pia Wurtzbach (2015), Margie Moran (1973), and Gloria Diaz (1969).
