Cristy Fermin Faces Tension With Sen. Robin Padilla: The Cost of Making Statements About…

In the latest episode of her talk show, columnist Cristy Fermin discussed Sen. Robin Padilla’s previous statement about the bullying of Romel Chika.

Sen. Robin made headlines after expressing his honest thoughts and opinions about physical and mental bullying during the Senate hearing for the implementation of the Anti-Bullying act, particularly in schools.

“It just so happens that Senator Robin has taken a stand against physical bullying, it’s okay with him. He says you’re just being poked and prodded, it’s okay with him,”  said Cristy Fermin.

Cristy shared the sentiments of other netizens, especially mothers, who reacted negatively to Sen.’s statement.

“Well, our countrymen, especially the great mothers of the home, responded. ‘Hey, Mr. Robin Padilla, common sense is free. Maybe you want to buy into that? My children, I raised them not to allow them to be physically hurt. If I were you, I wouldn’t lay a hand on my children, would I allow others to hurt them?’”  Manay continued.

According to their discussion, it seems Robin can only make these statements because his children do not experience bullying.

“If Daniel Padilla was beaten up in front of him, would he allow it? Of course not, right? Because that is physical bullying. What is that? You will be punched in the nose, you will be punched in the ear, you will be pushed, you will be punched, you will be hit, you will be forced, will you allow it? Me too, I will not allow that,”  Cristy Fermin emphasized.
