Marian Rivera’s film “Balota” has made it into the “Top 10-Non English Movies Worldwide” of subscription-based streaming service Netflix.

In a post by GMA Pictures, the film, which was an entry in Cinemalaya last year, is in eighth place.

Recently, the Kapuso Primetime Queen expressed her gratitude for “Balota” ranking number 1 among Philippines movies on Netflix when it was first released last January 31.

Currently, “Balota” is No. 2 on Netflix’s “Top 10 Movies in the Philippines Today.”

For her performance in the film as Teacher Emmy, Marian earned her first Best Actress award from the Cinemalaya Film Festival.

Directed by Kip Oebanda, “Balota” was screened at Cinemalaya 2024, and was next seen in theaters last October.

The film is about election fraud and violence, and features Teacher Emmy protecting the ballot containing the final copy of the election results.
