The Philippines’ CJ Opiaza made it to the first round of Country’s Power of the Year, an online voting competition of Miss Grand International.
The Filipina beauty queen is part of the Top 16, as announced by organizers on Monday. She joins representatives from Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand, Peru, Guatemala, Vietnam, Mexico, Paraguay, Colombia, Spain, Malaysia, India, Venezuela, Angola, and Brazil.
The results were based on engagements on the Facebook and Instagram pages of Miss Grand International.
The winner of the Country’s Power of the Year award will secure a spot in the Top 20 of the Miss Grand International 2024 pageant. A second round of voting is set to be held soon, organizers said.
Opiaza is aiming for the Philippines’ first-ever Miss Grand International crown. Recently, she was named among the 10 candidates with the most number of votes in the pageant’s Best in Swimsuit competition.
