Fans from all over the country flocked to movie theaters at midnight on November 13 and to the rest of the first day screenings to score a first look into “Hello, Love, Again”, the highly anticipated next chapter of Joy (Kathryn Bernardo) and Ethan’s (Alden Richards) love story. From certified night owls to individuals clocking off work, audiences came up with their own ways of making their moviegoing experience even more memorable.
Here are some of the most fun and most romantic happenings at the “Hello, Love, Again” screenings!
Makeshift slumber party
Several moviegoers dressed in their best (and comfiest!) sleepwear to go see “Hello, Love, Again”. It’s only fitting for a film that also touches on coming home for its audience to feel at home while at the cinema!
TikTok user @pqrshangggg took this opportunity to make a “pajama edition” date out of the midnight screenings, sporting matching patterned onesies with her partner.
TikTok user @camilleversola also took part in the comfy dress code at her theater’s midnight screening, as seen on her post on November 14. With much enthusiasm, she encouraged people to experience “Hello, Love, Again” for themselves.
Facebook users Susan San Juan and Kristian David meanwhile bonded over a mother-and-son movie date. The two came in their snazziest silk pajamas as well as posed with their movie tickets, as shown by Kristian in his post from November 13.
Tying the knot
Wedding bells will finally come for a couple of 13 years after the guy’s romantic proposal took place in SM City Bataan, where they saw the midnight screening of “Hello, Love, Again”.
TikToker @rogie_tarroza shared the kilig-worthy moment which he witnessed as the credits rolled after the movie. The guy knelt on one knee and presented the engagement ring to his girl. She gave him her sweet yes, then they kissed and embraced before the cheers of the movie audience. Congratulations, lovebirds!
Netizens react
The marriage proposal witnessed by @rogie_tarroza inspired various reactions from those who saw his TikTok post. One of the commenters, singer-composer TJ Monterde, who penned the film’s theme song “Palagi”, suggested the idea of starting a new trend called #PalagiProposals.
The proposal also amped up the excitement for those who are yet to watch “Hello, Love, Again”, like @loryrubyjane who commented that the proposal sent her crying and wanting even more to see the movie.
Emotional rollercoaster
While “Hello, Love, Again” moviegoers may think that they signed up for the usual movie-viewing experience, they were in for a joyous surprise.
TikTok user @iameuuun found herself among a highly energetic audience and likened the experience to taking a rollercoaster ride – an emotional one that is! She was able to catch this sea of squealing viewers in a hilarious reaction video she posted on November 13.
The excitement was also palpable at this screening where viewers weren’t afraid to express even their full-body reactions. From huge claps to even jumping off their seats, the feedback was priceless! As seen in this post by SM Manila’s official TikTok page, the viewing experience was simply electric!
