THAILAND – Nawat Itsaragrisil, CEO of Miss Grand International (MGI), expressed concern that the 2nd runner-up of Miss Grand International 2024 may be a victim of pressure and manipulation.
Mr. Nawat Itsaragrisil, CEO of Miss Grand International, continued to speak out about the shocking incident at the Miss Grand International 2024 contest, when the Myanmar National Director (ND) removed the crown and sash of Thae Su Nyein (Tate) – 2nd Runner-up of Miss Grand International 2024 right on stage.
In a recent TikTok live stream, Mr. Nawat revealed that the Myanmar Country Director often causes serious problems, especially inappropriate behavior related to human right and the safety of the contestants. He expressed concern that Tate, 18, may be the victim of pressure and manipulation.
“I really feel sorry for Tate. Everyone has the right to live their life and be happy the way they choose. I believe she is being forced and becoming a ‘puppet’ in the hands of some people. It is definitely not what she wanted to snatch the crown and walk off the stage but you cannot refuse these mafia people,” Mr. Nawat shared.
In addition, Mr. Nawat also revealed financial problems including delayed payment of the cost of hosting the contest and borrowing money from various sources. He challenged the Myanmar country director to provide evidence of the alleged $25.000 they claimed to have paid. Otherwise, he would sue for defamation.
“I want to contact Tate but it is difficult because she is under tight control. I hope she will realize the situation. The image of carrying her off the stage is a violent act against a young girl. She is only 18 years old, still in high school, how can she confront these people?”, Mr. Nawat expressed.
This incident has caused a stir in public opinion and raised concerns about the rights and safety of contestants in international beauty pageants.
