Miss Grand Philippines CJ Opiaza was praised for her hard work in the international pageant.Miss Grand Philippines 2024 CJ Opiaza continued the country’s high placements in the Miss Grand International pageant with her first runner-up finish, and the people around her are applauding her for it.

In his post, Arnold stressed that it was CJ’s “relevant and timely message about respect” that won her the first runner-up crown. Arnold also emphasized the hard work that CJ put in towards repairing the relationship between Miss Grand International president Nawat Itsaragrisil and the Filipino fandom, writing that she “put an end to the misunderstanding and unwanted hatred.”
Meanwhile, Yaj recalled CJ’s two previous attempts at a beauty pageant crown, from the 2022 Binibining Pilipinas pageant to the 2023 Miss Universe Philippines pageant. He shared that CJ gave everything that she had to the Miss Grand International pageant and that it was “a joy beyond words” to see the country support her.
The country has definitely shown its support towards CJ, responding enthusiastically to the Miss Grand Philippines call for votes for the Country’s Power of the Year voting challenge, which ended during the airing of the preliminary competition that aired on October 22. The challenge’s top four automatically made it into the pageant’s top 20.
The Miss Grand Philippines organization previously called for votes for CJ during the Miss Grand International Pre-arrival Voting. At the time of the call, CJ was in the top six of the Miss Grand International pre-arrival voting. Making up the top five were Miss Myanmar, Miss Indonesia, Miss Vietnam, Miss Cambodia, and Miss Thailand.
CJ would then go on to make it to the top 10 of the challenge, earning her a dinner with the Miss Grand International president.
CJ left for Phnom Penh, Cambodia on Thursday, October 3, at 10 p.m after a send-off and a press conference. The Miss Grand Philippines called on pageant fans and followers to send her off with “confidence and determination”.
CJ was crowned Miss Grand Philippines at the final show held at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, Newport World Resorts, besting 19 other queens.
