Chelsea Manalo Stuns Miss Universe CEO as the ‘Humble Queen’ Just Before the Global Showdown in Mexico!

Miss Universe Philippines Chelsea Manalo is capturing global attention with grace and humility as she prepares for the Miss Universe 2024 competition. The Filipina beauty queen, who proudly represents the Philippines, was hailed as a “humble queen” by Miss Universe CEO Anne Jakrajutatip during a recent pageant event in Mexico.

Manalo’s Humble Filipino Roots Shine Through

In an interview with Qrown Philippines, Manalo shared how Jakrajutatip’s words deeply resonated with her. “She said I was a humble queen, but I had to honor, of course, my family and our culture,” Manalo explained. The Bulacan native emphasized that humility is a core Filipino value taught by her parents, which she proudly embodies.

“We always strive for power in who we are, and that includes being humble,” she added. “You can be humble but still powerful. That’s who we are. Laban Filipinas!”

The two first met at a pageant event last week, where Jakrajutatip warmly greeted Manalo, who responded with a spirited “Mabuhay!” Despite the chilly Mexican weather, Manalo expressed her excitement, admitting that while she prefers the tropical Philippine climate, she was thrilled to visit Mexico finally.

Building Anticipation with Iconic Looks

As the November 17 Miss Universe coronation night approaches, Manalo has captivated her followers on social media, showcasing looks inspired by iconic characters. She channeled Disney’s Princess Tiana in one memorable appearance, wearing a striking chartreuse gown designed by Carl Arcusa and styled by Paris Roxas.

Manalo, crowned Miss Universe Philippines in May, was the first Filipina of African descent to hold the title. She recently rated her readiness for the competition a solid nine out of ten, attributing the final push to the support of her fellow Filipinos.

“It’s the love from my fellow Pinoys that completes it,” Manalo said. “I know everyone is excited. Let’s see what I have in store for Miss Universe.”

Aiming to bring home the Philippines’ fifth Miss Universe crown, Manalo follows in the footsteps of previous winners Catriona Gray, Pia Wurtzbach, Margie Moran, and Gloria Diaz.
