Sofronio Vasquez is in the Philippines after winning ‘The Voice Season 26’ in December 2024.
The Filipino singer made history as the first Asian to become a grand champion in ‘The Voice US.’
While he’s back in the Philippines for a workation, Sofronio appeared in several TV programs and made a courtesy call at the Malacañang Palace where he performed for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and the first family.

Sofronio Vasquez was born and raised in Misamis Occidental.
Dentistry
He studied dentistry and became a dental hygienist.
It’s Showtime
In 2017, he joined It’s Showtime “Tawag ng Tanghalan” where he finished third place.
Singing career
He credits his passion for singing to his father who was his first coach. When his father passed away in 2018, he pursued a career in singing and worked as a singer for the Carnival Cruise Line and joined singing contests.
New York
In 2022, he moved to the U.S. to work as a dental assistant in Utica, New York.

‘The Voice US’
In 2024, he joined ‘The Voice US and was under Team Bublé–a group of contestants from season 26 of The Voice coached by Michael Bublé.
Finale
He performed “A Million Dreams” from ‘The Greatest Showman.’
Grand Champion
In December 10, 2024, Sofronio won ‘The Voice US’, making him the first male Asian winner in the show’s run, as well as the first Filipino to win the grand prize. He won US $100,000 and a recording contract with Universal Music Group.
‘It’s Showtime’
Sofronio was moved to tears when he had a homecoming stage production for ‘It’s Showtime’ in January 2025.
Homecoming
During Sofronio’s return home to the Philippines, he made a courtesy call in the Malacañang Palace where he sang some of Pres. Marcos’s favorite songs.
