Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco became an instant fan of Sofronio Vasquez, the “The Voice USA” champion.

Frasco got a front-row seat for Vasquez’s soulful serenade during his visit to Malacañang on Wednesday. The Filipino-American singer sang two songs, “Imagine” and “A Million Dreams”, during his courtesy call on President Marcos at the Palace.

“What an absolute honor and pleasure to meet Sofronio, winner of The Voice USA, during his courtesy call with President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.,” Frasco wrote on Instagram.

The tourism chief praised Vasquez, saying he has brought honor and pride to the nation through his talent and perseverance.

“Sofronio’s story is one of passion, persistence, and perseverance. With every note comes across his humility, hard work, and soulfulness. You have done our country proud, Sofronio! Congratulations!” she said.

She also offers prayers for Vasquez’s journey to global stardom.
